Apollo 11: We've Landed ...

Transcript of a call between NASA Space Flight Center in Houston and the Apollo 11 crew that occurred during a flight to Měsíc and shortly after landing.

NASA: What do you see there? Flight control calls Apollo 11 ...

Apollo: These kids are huge, sir! God! You would not believe your own eyes. I'm telling you there are some other spacecraft on the back of the crater! They are on the Moon and are watching us!

Other parts of the interview between the Apollo 11 Crew, called Pepper Transcripts, published by Sam Pepper.

Aldrin: The first unusual thing we saw was something above or very close to it. It was big enough, so we focused on the binoculars.

Collins: How could we look at that thing? We just looked out the window and it was.

Aldrin: Yes, we were not sure it could be S-IVB (Note: Saturn 5 Third Stage). We called Houston and they told us he was 6000 miles from us ...

Collins: Something was wrong. We felt a shock, but maybe it just seemed to me.

Armstrong: He wanted to know if MESA had been hit (equipment section).

Collins: I do not think we would feel it.

Aldrin: Sure, we looked at all the types of small objects that were flying around, and then we saw a brighter object. It occurred to us that it must be something other than S-IVB. We looked through the binoculars and looked as if it were in the shape of a letter L.

Armstrong: Like an open suitcase.

Aldrin: We were in PTC (passive thermal protection) so everyone could look and it really looked like it's in our neighborhood and it has a lot of size.

Armstrong: It was hard to tell what it was like. And it was not possible to estimate the dimensions when we did not know how far it was, or the distance without knowing the dimensions.

Aldrin: So then I moved to LEB and started to observe it through the optics. We were mistaken, because in the sextant without focus, what we observed seemed like a cylinder.

Armstrong: Or actually two rings.

Aldrin: Yes

Armstrong: Two linked rings.

Aldrin: Yes

Collins: No, it sounded like a hollow cylinder. It did not look like two joined circles. It was possible to see how the thing was spinning and when it passed around it was visible straight in. It was an empty cylinder. But then you could change the focus of the sextant and it was replaced by the shape of an open book. It was really strange.

Aldrin: I think I can not say more than that it was not a cylinder.

Collins: The fact that we did not see it again - we really do not know what it could be, how big it was, how far it was. But we know very well that it was not like our urine flying in space.
