A team of scientists from the University of Yamagata, together with IBM scientists, found 143 new Nazca lines in Peru using artificial intelligence technology in Peru. Some shapes can only be seen from a great height.

Newly discovered figures on the Nazca plain

Masato Sakai, a cultural anthropologist at Yamagata University, and his team worked with the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in the United States. They set up an artificial intelligence system to scan Nazca satellite images from various angles and perspectives. Then the team traveled directly to the Nazca Plateau to confirm their discoveries.

The patterns may date back 2000 years and may show the patterns of humanoids and animals. Their size ranges from five to 100 meters. One of the patterns is also the so-called double-headed snake - this pattern is noticeably repeated. Humanoids, in turn, resemble astronauts who emit light (they have suits and helmets). One of the humanoids has conspicuously large eyes that could mark wormholes.

Had

The geoglyph of a snake with its head at both ends immediately casts on its mind the image of a feathered snake (Quetzalcóatl). The feathered snake is one of the main deities of the ancient Mexican pantheon, so it is interesting to find a similar depiction in Peru. It was the Toltec civilization that worshiped Quetzalcoatl, and this symbol spread to the south.

Some of the figures further resembled dinosaurs, others have a figure associated with animals by a harness. One humanoid stands next to a spherical object. Inside the sphere we see what could be a face. (see below)

New Nazca lines

State-of-the-art technology has recently helped scientists find new clues about the possible reasons for the patterns on the Nazca Plain. At the end of some trapezoidal orbits resembling a structure, scientists discovered piles of stones covering the altar stone slabs. Around the "altars" are walls flooded with the remains of sea creatures: the remains of crayfish, crab skeletons and fragments of mollusk shells. One theory is that oyster shells were a symbolic offering to the gods. This offer was to bring rain to the arid desert area.

Many geoglyphs also have shards of broken pottery. The pottery was intentionally crushed as part of a ritual.

Thanks to the new technology, we will see many more exciting findings in the future. Who knows what discoveries we will find thanks to the latest technologies. And if that's the case, it's interesting to think about whether it wasn't planned. We can probably discover some shapes and lines when the "right time" comes.
