Not only is it mysterious "Armenian StonehengeIt precedes the Pyramid and its more famous counterpart in England by thousands of years, some of these stones even depicting mysterious humanoid beings with elongated heads with almond-shaped eyes. Is it possible that they were ancient astronauts who visited Earth thousands of years ago? It is located in modern Armenia, in Karahunji also known as Zorats Karer or Armenian Stonehenge. We will find a number of mysterious images that have provoked controversial reactions since their discovery.

Carahunge or Karahunj is an ancient place, which it is assumed to be English Stonehenge precedes at least 3 500 years and Pyramids of ancient Egypt on the incredible 3 000 years. This ancient complex occupies more than 7 hectares and offers its visitors a number of special carved works created by the early civilizations that inhabited this area thousands of years ago.

Many of its visitors agree that this impressive ancient site is very similar to Stonehenge. The main similarity of an ancient place lies in special circular patterns of stones. Just as with the Armenian counterpart in England, the real purpose remains for archaeologists a profound mystery that they can not solve. Theories that try to explain what this ancient place was thousands of years ago are lush, but the most acceptable are that this ancient complex was either an astronomical or festive complex. Scientists, however, can not find out because of the lack of information and historical records.

The Armenian "Stonehenge" is much older than the English version and It consists of similar roughly carved boulders, placed in two elliptical overlapping circles. Interestingly, many of the boulders found at Karahunya have strange holes cut through, and some scholars even portray similarities with megalithic boulders with their special holes discovered in ancient Egypt. This existence of mysterious holes leads the scientist to believe that they were used thousands of years ago for astronomical observations.

But when we look at how the name Karahunj or Carahunge is interpreted, we understand that it comes from two Armenian words: car (or kar), which in translation means stone and hunge or hoonch, which means sound. Therefore, we understand that the name of the ancient site is translated as "Talking Stones". This is related to the fact that stones tend to "whistle" on windy days due to the number of holes "drilled" in prehistoric times at different angles.

Instead, 2004 was officially named by a parliamentary decree as Observatory of Karahunj (Carahunge). Many expeditions studied this ancient site. The most extensive survey was conducted by Paris Herouni and Elma Parsamyan of the Biurakan Observatory. Herouni concluded that this ancient site was: "a temple with a large and well-developed observatory, as well as a university." engineer, scientist (1933-2008).

Interestingly, some even drew similarities between the Karahunj (Carahunge) and Gobekli Tepem observatories in modern Turkey. V. Vahradyan suggests that Gobekli Tepe shows the map of the night sky and the constellation of the Swan, which represents the same constellation in the Karahunj Observatory, which mirrors the place.

But as if the age of the ancient observatory, its purpose and origin were not mysterious enough, there are other incredible details that make this ancient place even more interesting. Among the numerous boulders found in the place, some have special carved motifs on the surface. Some of the humanoid creatures represented on some rocks are terribly similar to the "contemporary" presentation of gray aliens. Some humanoid figures carved in Karahunja have elongated almond-shaped heads and eyes and are depicted holding some kind of wheeled artifact.
