Did the astronaut really see aliens? Astronaut Leland Devon Melvin in the years 2008 - 2009 (missions STS 122 and STS 129) took two shuttle flights , Atlantis' and spent a total of 23 days in the universe. In 2011 he retired and started working at NASA headquarters in Washington. Recently, Melvin met with a popular ufologist Scott Waring, who asked him two questions:

"What do you think about the possibility of rational extraterrestrial life in our solar system? Have you ever seen a UFO? ”

Did he see anything unusual - aliens?

In reply, Melvin said that during his Atlantis shuttle flight with colleague Randy Breznik saw something unusual. The shuttle was already in orbit around Earth. He noticed something "translucent, rounded and apparently organic" in the cargo bay of the shuttle. Leland immediately considered strangers and even wanted to contact the control center and say "Houston, we have a problem."

Then he realized that because of these words in the center he would start a big shout and decided to keep silent. Later, when both astronauts returned to the ground, Leland did not think about it. Everything was also discussed with NASA officials, but they told him that it was probably a piece of ice that dropped out of the refrigeration plant.

In response, Twitter users began to write that such an explanation is very similar to NASA's explanation of the existence of extraterrestrial life. Leland replied that he had accepted such an explanation and believed NASA, but added that "you never know for sure what it is."

Ufologist Nigel Watson, author of the book "UFO World War I", is certain that Melvin he actually saw a real extraterrestrial creature.
