The sunken "alien spaceship" under the Baltic Sea, five years after its discovery, still confuses experts. The team that discovered the so-called "Baltic Sea anomaly" in 2011 emphasized that even after five years, no one was able to identify an object in the vicinity of which electronic equipment failures occur.

On the seabed is a mysterious sunken object, which has been confusing experts and sea explorers since its discovery. The object, which resembles the Millennium Falcon, a legendary Star Wars spaceship, is called the "Baltic Sea anomaly." It was discovered by a group of underwater researchers called the "Ocean X Team" in 2011 at a depth of 91 meters. A team led by Captain Peter Lindberg and explorer Dennis Asberg discovered a mysterious object with the help of a sonar and behind it what appears to be signs of towing.

Electronic faults

Everything seemed to be fine until the crew found the object began to report electronic faults in its vicinity.

Professional diver Stefan Hogerborn, part of the Ocean X team, said:

“All the electrical equipment we had outside, as well as the satellite phone, stopped working when we were over the object. Then, when we were about 200 meters away, the devices started working again after turning them back on, but when we got back over the object nothing worked again. ”

The secret "sunken UFO" is a wide 61 meter and measures approximately 8 meters in height. The mysterious rounded shape of the object leads millions of people around the world to speculation what an object might be. For example, there have been theories describing the object as a giant sponge, but also a sunken Russian ship or spacecraft.

It is not a geological formation

The mystery surrounding the mysterious object at the bottom of the Baltic Sea deepened when geologist Steve Weiner said that according to his tests it was not a geological formation, because the structure was made up of "metals that nature does not make out".

Life's Little Mysteries.com quoted Volker Bruchert, a collaborating professor of geology at Stockholm University: "My hypothesis is that this object, this structure, was created during the Ice Age many thousands of years ago." According to other reports, Lindberg and Asberg apparently told the Open Mind site that the samples they offered for analysis did not come from the object itself but from its surroundings.

The latest news about the anomaly dates back to 2015, when Lindberg wrote for "What's Up in The Sky" that, although they had not been near the anomaly lately, they looked at it again with sonar and saw nothing new. Lindberg said the plan was to visit again "We will largely repeat the same survey as we did in 2012. It is not yet certain, but because we have joined a new television project, we have a new opportunity to explore."

Lindberg is not convinced that the anomaly is in fact an alien spaceship. When asked what an object could be, he replied: “I think it is something natural, but very special in its shape. It is difficult to explain exactly what this could be, because different scientists have different theories. For example, marine geologist Kyle Kingman is very sure that it is a paleosol (a form of geological fossil), marine geologist Tom Flodén thinks it could be a manganese nodule of huge size (concentric layers of iron and manganese hydroxides around a tiny core). Marine archaeologist Andreas Olsson - after watching a sonar film and a blueview video - was absolutely certain that the object must be man-made. ”
