Former Belgian Air Force General Wilfried De Brouwer describes several cases of ETV sightings he encountered in 1989 and 1990. His task was an official investigation within the Belgian Air Force.

He never personally came to a clear conclusion about where the strange triangular objects came from. De Brouwer also describes a special film that was allegedly favored in Petit-Rechain.

Before 25, thousands of Belgians reported reports of an unknown object that had flown over their roofs.

The Royal Belgian Air Force (RBAF) was then led by Colonel Wilfried De Brouwer. He also co-operated on the civil investigation of the event.

The main profile was that it was a triangular object the size of a Jambo-Jet. It had three strong lower lights in the corners. There was another light in the middle that glowed red. Windows were (probably) visible on the side around the perimeter.

The object was able to move at a very slow speed at low altitude completely inaudibly. He was also able to hang on the spot without noise. According to some witnesses, the building was able to remain standing still and in a vertical position. The object was able to accelerate extremely quickly.

RBAF pursued the object, but did not have the resources to complete its own investigation. Instead, they used an unusual way of working with the public research group SOBEPS, which transmitted their radar data for further analysis.

No one will tell you fully if it was ETV. Most of them were lukewarm about it at the time, saying that it was not their concern. Personally, I see it as our concern, because it was a violation of our airspace and it was a question of our own safety.

It is not clear what kind of plane it came from, who it belongs to and what it intends to do. It could be terrorists. It should be your responsibility to determine whether there is a security risk. That there is no danger to the population.

My primary task was to find out whose plane it was. Whether it's ours or someone else's. We also judged whether it was a new experimental aircraft. I'm sure it was nothing Belgian. At the time, I formally asked the US and UK embassies if it was their plane. In both cases, they replied that there were no experimental flights over Belgium. They assured us that they would not make any experimental flights over our territory without our consent - consent within NATO.

The whole mystery is completed by photographs from Petit-Rechain. Thanks to an examination of the original, further new details were obtained.

We took this photo as an example of how the Belgian UFOs looked. The appearance of the photograph coincides with the drawings obtained from the public. However, it was found that the photo was manipulated. Another problem is that the photo was not given to the public until 1,5 years after the incident. Rather, it appears that the photograph itself is a hoax, although its depiction captures what people have described.

The USA has shown interest in the event, which took place in Belgium.

I was visited by a security analyst from the US Senate. He told me that he was interested in this case because this event did not coincide with any "black-ops" (black / secret programs funded by the US government). He was very interested and asked me for some more information about the incident and I gave him that information. I don't know if the incident was formally investigated in the US…

We do not know of any institution in the world that could create a huge Jambo-JET-sized aircraft that moves without noise or can hang in place without noise. We do not currently have such technology. And this, of course, begs the question, whose is it and what propulsion system does the aircraft have?

I am convinced that the US is interested in this because it is a technology beyond our current capabilities.

I believe that each country should collect this kind of information and share it with other countries. I know it's happening between a few countries, but it's not at an official level. I think that information about observations should be shared.

Due to the consistency of testimony of trusted witnesses, General De Brouwer remains concerned with this case.

There were about 2000 statements and reports. We think there were more witnesses, they just don't know they could report it. This is one of the best documented cases. And that's an important aspect for me. It is a case where there are photographs, radar records, fighter sightings. There are many trustworthy witnesses with whom I have been in personal contact and I have spoken to them many times in the case. I have no doubt that they were telling the truth.

We have about 100 statements from such credible witnesses. They have not changed their statement to this day. When you return to the observation points, we will meet many other people who will confirm that they also observed the object, but did not officially testify for personal reasons. They are absolutely sure of that. This is very important to me - to talk to those people, even after 20 years. Their attitude has not changed.
