Níkajský The Council convened the Roman Emperor Constantine in 325 to unify the views of the Christian faith and to determine which texts may be included in the Bible. The council took place near the Asia Minor city of Nikaia. It was the first meeting of bishops of the Christian church. Bishops came to the assembly mainly from the eastern half of the Roman Empire. The bishop based in the city of Rome (pope) did not personally attend the assembly, but he sent his deputies.

Unification of the decaying Roman Empire

Constantine wanted to use the emerging religion to unify the decaying Roman Empire. There were various written records and different versions of the teachings, but there was no single organization or form of Christianity. Emperor Constantine wanted to abuse it for his own benefit. The Romans always had very good talents to organize and organize management.

During the council, religious and political dogmas were unified. The multi-day meeting establishes new religious rules that subordinate the church to the emperor and form the basic administrative and political structure of the church. It was also determined which gospels would be included in the new form of the Christian Bible. Konstantin had 50 copies made on the basis of agreed rules Holy Bible, which contained only politically correct versions of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Other gospels or even some passages in the original version of the above were in 381 on Constantinople the Council was forbidden and could not read. All the texts relating to them were burned and their owners imprisoned or executed.

Peter's Gospel

In 1886, it was discovered in an early Christian tomb Peter's Gospel. It was also in 20. century, the gospel of Thomas, Mary Magdalene and Judas. This lost gospel brings a very different view of the life story of Jesus and his thought message.

Near the Egyptian city of Nakhamadi, a local farmer was discovered by a sealed container containing scrolls of lost gospels. The pitcher contained more than 52 texts written as: The actions of Peter, James's apocalypse, and the gospel of Thomas. These were exactly the texts that other authors referred to as lost texts. They were probably saved in this way after Emperor Constantine consolidated his religious-political position in 325.

The biggest surprise was the Gospel of Thomas. It has been translated from Greek into Coptic and contains Jesus' statements. Many of the things mentioned in this text can also be found in current versions of the so-called New Testament (Bible). The main difference is that the Gospel of Thomas is gnostic.

Gnostics

Gnostics it was early morning Christian groupingwho placed considerable emphasis on mysticism and profound spiritual mysteries and disagreed with the dogmatism spread under the guise of an evolving Christian-Church hierarchy. The Gnostics hid and protected themselves true learning, which came from the teachings of Jesus (called Joshua).

A word gnosis is the Greek term for knowledge a gnostic is the one who knows. In truth, they were rather mystics, philosophers, and spiritual esotericists — those who could find enlightenment through themselves without the need to form or support any secular formal institutions. Their path was completely individualistic without the external influences of earthly authorities.

Traditional Gospels claim that Jesus is the only Son of God. Tomah's gospel, by contrast, suggests that we are all God's sons and daughters. He literally says: When you know yourself, you know each other and you understand that you are all the children of the living Father (all-pervading God). In other words, if Jesus is a child of God, then we are also sons of God and daughters. There is nothing that we ourselves cannot have on our own if we know how to do it - we know the way. We have the same chance to have a relationship with Deity - God's principle.

The Gospel of Thomas challenges everyone to a personal connection with God's principle in himself, without the need for an organized church, priests or bishops.

The existence of Thomas's gospel and the link of Gnostic teachings undermined the power of the Christian Church. The Gnostics have proclaimed that their Gospels have at least the same (or perhaps even greater) weight as the Church of the revised version of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John's Gospel.

When the lost texts were discovered in 1945, it became clear that they were probably older than those previously recognized by the church. The dating of the documents showed that these could be texts dating back to the early days of Christianity. The conventional dating of the origin of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is 40 to 60 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. However, the Gospel of Thomas seems older. It describes the direct statements of Jesus, not his deeds.

The Magdalene Gospel

The Gospel of Mary Magdalene was first discovered in 1896 in Achmi, Egypt. Mary Magdalene was a devoted follower of Jesus and his life partner (wife). The text indicates that women had an equal status as men in early Christianity. It is revealed here that Jesus exclusively shares with her the teachings concerning the mysteries of life, death and heaven.

Jesus explains to Mary the essentials about the afterlife in a way that is typical of the Gnostic view. According to this concept, the afterlife involves the soul's journey into the unknown, the encounter with angelic and demonic beings, while the soul heads to heaven. The text also mentions that Peter found it very difficult for Jesus to share his knowledge with his wife. He says: Should we listen to her and listen to her? However, the others disagree with Peter and oppose him: If Jesus believes her, then who are you to judge her?

Mary is understood in the text as a very spiritual being able to understand Jesus' thoughts very well. She was able to connect with him very well and understand his intentions. In many ways, she appears to have been able to go far beyond understanding than Jesus' other immediate followers — traditionally referred to as the apostles.

The Gospel also contains references to spiritual sexuality capable of transferring man to death. It deepens the significance and depth of the love relationship between Jesus and Mary: The Gospel according to Mary Magdalene.

In the texts we will also learn about power disputes about the possibility of women's influence on the beginnings of Christianity. Mary Magdalene is presented here as a leading figure - a direct follower after Jesus' death.

In 1886, the French discovered it archaeologists an ancient tomb in which lay the skeletal remains of a monk from the 8th century, who held in his hands a bundle of remarkable texts entitled as the Gospel of Peter. In the Gospel of Peter, the Romans are portrayed as surprisingly likeable individuals. According to Peter's conception, Jesus did not suffer on the cross.

The most important difference from the well-established interpretation is in the way Peter - as a direct witness to the event - describes the course of the process of resurrection itself.
