No one can say for sure when it was built. The conjectures vary from 1500 BC to over 15000 BC to the astronomical figures of 150000 BC The area around Tiwanaku could have been inhabited around 1500 BC as a small village. Many researchers believe that the area was inhabited between 300 AD to 1000 AD, when Tiwanaku was reportedly developed significantly.

Cosmopolitan Center

Scientists believe that between 300 BC and 300 AD Tiwanaku was a normal cosmopolitan center where many people made pilgrimages. It is assumed that Tiwanaku was a very powerful empire.

In 1945 Arthur Posnansky discovered the connection between construction and astronimia. The buildings were oriented according to important constellations and astronomical events. From this, Posnansky concluded that buildings must be older than 15000 years BC. However, even this dating will probably not be accurate, because according to rumors, buildings are much older.

A place where representatives of all races and nationalities met

The great feature of the complex is square surrounded by a perimeter wall into which the faces are inserted. Each of them clearly represents one race that was represented here. Some alternative archaeologists believe that the site may have had a similar significance as, for example, today's UN. Representatives of all nationalities and races met here to discuss mutual cooperation.

There are also races of grays - gray dwarfs or reptiles. So it had to be a meeting place not only across the planet Earth but also across the Universe. Some parts of the complex are built with megalithic technology. Tiwanaku is also often mentioned in connection with another city of gods - Puma Punku, which is adjacent to it.
