Why is this important?

• Tianwen-1 operates independently at NASA and ESA. As of 2021, it has published more than 14,757 images of Mars, including a global color map at a resolution of 76 m/pixel. China routinely uses these images for propaganda - just a few days ago it published a "selfie" of the Tianwen-2 probe from 590,000 km.
• If the 3I/ATLAS images showed a common comet (irregular nucleus, asymmetric coma), China would immediately publish themto take advantage of NASA's shutdown and emphasize the superiority of its probe over the upcoming mission tianwen-3 (sampling, planned for 2028).
• China gains nothing by remaining silent, if the object is of natural origin. It is not bound by any US secrecy regulations, NATO protocols or slow ESA review processes.

• No images from HiRIC/MoRIC cameras
• No statement from astronomers from the Chinese Academy of Sciences
• No news in state media (CGTN, Xinhua, Global Times)

6. Extremely negative polarization ("unprecedented among asteroids and comets")
7. Low doubly atomic carbon content despite high levels of CO₂
8. Age estimated at 7–14 billion years according to kinematics
