Russian Pegtymel Petroglyphs (Petroglyph je obraz on a rock created in prehistoric times or in later times by machining surface stone cutting, gouging, carving, sanding or painting, most often a combination of these techniques) are 2000-year-old works of art found in a remote area of Arctic Russia. They show scenes from the hunting and ritual use of hallucinogenic mushrooms. These drawings, known as the "northernmost gallery of world art" in Eurasia, are located high above the right bank of the Pegtymel River, near the East Siberian Sea. These are the only rock paintings discovered in Russia beyond the Arctic Circle. The closest town to Pegtymelu in Chukotka is the town of Pevek, 5555 km from Moscow.
