Gigantic ancient geoglyphs in the Middle East were created in the prehistoric period

The results of the survey of ancient giant buildings in the Middle East were published. The stone statues that make up the circles are dated around 6500 BC. This means they are older than the known Peruvian geoglyphs, shapes in the Nazca Plain.

The pilots were the first to notice the geoglyphs during the First World War. A British Royal Air Force officer, Percy Maitland, published a report on them in 1 in Antiquity magazine, stating that the Bedouins refer to them as creations of ancient people, a name used by today's researchers.

The "old creations" include circles in which they come from the center of their rays with a louette) and form diamonds, deltoids, as well as remnants of walls and stone pyramids.

The size of the figures ranges from a few tens of meters to several kilometers and leads us to compare with the well-known geometric shapes on the Peruvian Nazca Plain, whose age was determined between 200 and 500 BC.

Similar geoglyphs are scattered across the Arabian peninsula, from Syria to Jordan, Saudi Arabia to Yemen. But they are hardly noticeable.

With the help of the method optical dating Archaeologists have determined the age of one of the circles in the Black Desert in Jordan to be 8500 years, and at the same time found that another circle, created at the same time, was then reconstructed after about 3000 years.

During this prehistoric period, the climate in the Middle East was significantly different from today, and there were many trees, shrubs and grasses in the places of the present desert. Charred remains of oak and tamarisk were found in one of the ancient fireplaces.

We have no exact data on the connection between the figures and astronomy, so far we have managed to clarify that the rays of the two circles located near the Azraq oasis in Jordan are directed to the sunrise on the day of the winter solstice. However, we cannot confirm that they were intentionally oriented by ancient builders, in the other figures no archaeoastronomic information has been proven so far.

The purpose of these "ancient creations" is still unclear. There are hypotheses that circles are built at burial sites or other ritual sites. Another version is, as Live Science claims, that deltoids were used as cattle enclosures.

The Nazca figures are gigantic geometric and figural geoglyphs on a plateau in southern Peru. The plain, which stretches from north to south for about 50 kilometers and in the west-east direction 5 -7 kilometers.
