The Iraqi minister claims that the ancient Sumerians traveled in a spaceship to Pluto millennia ago. Iraqi Transport Minister Kezm Finjan told reporters that this ancient civilization built Iraq's first airport 5000 years BC.

The Sumerians represent the oldest civilization in Iraq that reached its peak at 2 700 - 2 400 before our year.

They are believed to have settled in the historic region of southern Mesopotamia, which is now southern Iraq where they developed agriculture, trade and manufacturing skills such as weaving, pottery and metallurgy.

The New Arab reports:

Finjan resorted to claiming that the airport served as a space research node and that the Sumerians discovered Pluto, which is mistakenly claimed to be the "twelfth planet" of the solar system and that it was discovered by NASA.

Finjan tried to support his enthusiastic audiences by encouraging skeptics to study the work of the Sumerians as Russian Professor Samuel Kramer.

This academic wrote about the Sumerian awareness of the solar system, documented in the myths of this ancient civilization.

The Sumerians represent the oldest known civilization in Iraq, and according to historians, 2 700 - 2 400 is the culmination of years before Christ, when Iraq - or old Mesopotamia - was considered the "cradle of civilization".

However, most people believe that the first person-made space trip was in the 1957 Soviet space program.

Later on, Yuri Gagarin set out on board Vostok 1, and made one Earth landing lasting 108 minutes before Gagarin disconnected 23 000 tracks and landed on the parachute.
