Mysterious figures have left many civilizations behind. And most people do not look much like them. Clay statuettes Dog found in Japan but scientists are upset today. These statuettes have their "relatives" in different parts of the world and they all have something in common - eyes! Is this the work of aliens?

Jemmon style ceramics

At least ten thousand years ago, ie. long before agriculture emerged, the first inhabitants of the eastern islands mastered the art of pottery, used utensils and lived in settlements.

Their distinctive john-style ceramics (rope pattern) was decorated with a coiled rope on wet clay. It was she who gave the name of the entire epoch of the Japanese Neolithic period of the VIII - I millennium BC. Samples were also found and their age is estimated at even twelve, maybe even thirteen thousand years!

In other parts of the planet, people will not learn this art until a few millennia later (for example, in China three thousand years later). It seems that Japanese ceramics is the oldest in the world. In general, however, there is some inconsistency in the dating of the Jomon period. Some specialists think that there was a so-called "pre-ceramic period" from 20 BC. However, something else is more important to us now.

Dog statuettes

The typical feature of Jomonian ceramics is Great Dane statues made of burnt clay. The height of these figures is from three to thirty centimeters. To date, more than fifteen thousand have been found. According to legend, they were once created in Japan by human giants. They may not have been giants, but no one knows exactly where the first inhabitants of the Japanese islands came from and lived here before the Ainu people appeared here.

In any case, some characteristic elements of this period can also be found in the art of the indigenous people of Australia and Oceania, in the African Sahara, in the New Hebrides in Polynesia, in South America on the Amazon and other places on our planet. It seems to be the source The oldest layers of these cultures are to be found in territories that have disappeared under water or even in outer space.

The significance of most subjects of Jomon pottery is more or less known; these are household utensils, dishes, tools for hunting and fishing. But what about the "dolls"… The exact details of their meaning are not yet known and an interesting curiosity is the very big eyes.

Eyes or sunglasses?

Some carefully crafted statuettes can see something that resembles a huge sunglasses on the face. This special category of figures is called Shakkoki Dogu or clay figurines in dark glasses. If we assume that they are real eyeglasses, the longitudinal slits on the lenses resemble the sun shields on the helmets of the current suits.

Or they are primitive "Sunglasses", which are similar to those used by the Eskimos today? They are opaque, with only a narrow horizontal cross-section, and resemble the sun protection on the helmets of today's spacesuits.

These glasses are very simple and never mist up. Apparently, when the people of the Jammon culture moved to islands from somewhere in the south (if not from another planet), then for them on the snow-covered wide plains and reflecting the sunshine, similar glasses became inevitable. Without eye protection, they could go blind.

In Japanese mythology, the inhabitants of the deep sea, the so-called kappa, are often mentioned. They had fins and, most importantly, they had knowledge that they passed on to people. So is it possible that the "glasses" could have something to do with water?

When we look at the statues closer, we can ask ourselves: What are the suits of the dive in deep depths? Their streamline shape is not at all accidental, and since it has to withstand the high water pressure, the use of a spherical shape capable of better decomposing forces is technically the right solution.

Do they have tattoos?

Figurines are usually covered with some complicated pattern that could be tattooed. Such an assumption may be astonishing, but the oldest known reference to Japan is mentioned in the Chinese manuscript of Gishiwajinden of III. century and it is written about men Va, who dive into the water for fish and shells and who apply special drawings to their bodies and faces with paint.

Once they did it to get rid of underwater predators, but later drawings became decorations. They differ in the different strains and their size corresponds to that of humans. Country Va is Japan. And although the style of a tribal tattoo has not been found among Japanese followers, we can still see it with other Pacific people, such as at the Maori in New Zealand.

The marks on the faces of Great Dane figurines were the subject of research carried out in 1969 by D. Takayama. He concluded that Drawings actually represent tattoos.

Similar ceramics in different parts of the world

However, in connection with the world of the dead, this interpretation seems controversial. But what else do we think of the Brazilian clay figurines found in Santarén on the Amazon? This pottery is also about two thousand years old. We know even less about the people of this territory than we do about the Ain's predecessors, but the figure of a woman with her hands on her belly and her specific eyes seem strangely familiar to us.

The Agamemnon Mask

It is probably no coincidence that one of the most famous archeological finds, the mask of Agamemnon, has similar eyes. Heinrich Schlieman found here looking for Troy. This mask is two thousand years older than the figures from Santarén. But he doesn't have glasses. In essence, we can find the same ancient work of art all over the world, and that is a face with closed eyes.

It is not excluded that Similar styles were created independently of each other, in different places and at different times. Examples include the mask of Agamemnon and the current mask of one of the African tribes.

These were burial masks?

Dr. Jent Hasebe (phonetic transcription, translation) based on the similarity between Great Dane helmets and wooden masks found in Africa, as early as 1924, he assumed that they were in fact funeral masks. So it is possible that Great Dane statues were used in burial ceremonies to provide the deceased with a magical connection to another world.? Then there is no wonder that their eyes are closed.

The reflection of the ancient astronauts overtaken the decade of the work of her most famous propagator, Ericha von Dänikena. The technologist and later the Russian sci-fi writer AP Kazancev were the first to express this assumption in the 50s.

The tomb of Chen San on the island of Kyushu in Japan, dated to 2000 BC, depicts an ancient ruler welcoming seven flying discs. Therefore, we can not be surprised that, as the professor of the University of Tokyo CH, writes in his book The Art of Japan. Mansterberg, the peoples of Jomon lived in the Stone Age, but dressed their statuettes in suits reminiscent of the current cosmic! An interesting helmet is with slit-shaped cross-sections, a collar through which the head passes freely and also a spiral ornament.

The secret spiral

When we think of what symbol could be comprehensible to every reasonable being from anywhere, we'll get to spiral. Many galaxies in the observable universe have this shape. In short, the people of the Jomon period must have seen all this. How else could they imitate all the details of the current spacesuit so carefully and in detail?

A specialist in the ancient cultures of Japan, Vaughn M. Greene, devoted many years to the study of Great Dane figures. The result was his book The XNUMX-year-old spacesuit. Green pays attention to all the unusual details that are identical to today's astronaut outfit, and importantly, he emphasizes that the Japanese in the Epic of Jomon also made a large number of other figures with evidently human features from clay.

Green also cites examples from Japanese mythology, which tell of the years of various objects behind the clouds and the sons of heaven. The Japanese also have a legend about a fire dragon flying from the sky, in which there are clear echoes of memories of ancient interstellar ships. In addition, the researcher finds agreement between the words dogu a Dogoni, the name of an African tribe whose legends say that visitors to space visited the Earth five thousand years ago.

Are the testimonies of visiting aliens?

The Swiss ufologist and important ideologist of palecontact theory, Erich von Däniken, also did not doubt that dog figurines are testimony of the visit aliens. Some other archaeological finds, such as, for example, suggest this obraz in the tomb of Chen San dating to 2000 BC, where the ruler in a welcoming gesture raises his hand in front of seven flying disks.

In medieval Japan, UFOs have been observed repeatedly. For example, in 1361, a flying object similar to a drum appeared on the side of an island west of Japan. In May 1606, fireballs hovered over Kyoto, and one night several samurai saw such a sphere, like a spinning red wheel, stop over Nijo Castle. Witnesses of unidentifiable objects, however, still appear today.

In 1964 and the 90s, NASA specialists analyzed Great Dane statues and concluded that they did resemble human beings in a spacesuit. They have a current hermetically sealed helmet on their head, and in most cases there are visible windows in the shape of two large round lenses, although on some heads there is only one window - over the entire upper part of the face.

Creatures in a suit

The elongated slots are an analogue of sun visors on the helm of today's cosmonauts. For example, we can see, for example, the buckles connecting the parts of the suit, but also the respiratory filter on the hermetic helmet. It is hard to imagine that such details were created by man of the Stone Age.

In almost all figures, three round protrusions can be seen in the area of the mouth and face, as if the places where the cables of communication devices and the hoses of the respiratory system are connected. Sleeves and trousers are inflated, literally as if the air pressure inside the suit is greater than the outside.

The experimental rigid shell suit AX-5 was created by NASA Ames in 1988 (due to its inflexibility it was not used in the end), but perhaps such a design will be used sometime in the future when spacesuits become stronger, more flexible, composed of several layers and with complex joints. which will provide better protection for those who will fly to Mars and beyond. In essence, it is "armor".

But how could that happen? analogous "cosmic" motifs are found in various parts of the Earth? Perhaps the mother ship from which the aliens had landed once and the second time had circled around her! Or they came here repeatedly.

In any case, these statues make us think and bring together the history of our civilization from ancient times and connect it with future flights to distant galaxies. Which means, of course, that the people of Jomon culture really deserve the admiration with which we approach their works today, thousands of years later…

There are many theories

Other theories say that they were children's toys or funeral figures. According to some archaeologists, this is an early religious culture and shamanic ceremonies. Most scientists believe that the Great Dane was talismans designed to protect health and safe births.

During the later period, the statuettes became more diverse. There are different types, divided into four groups: those in the shape of a heart (or crescent), another is a pregnant woman, the third is a horned owl, and perhaps the best known of all is the Great Dane with large eyes.

According to the National Museum of Japan, the total number of these stylized figures found throughout Japan is plus or minus eighteen thousand. Most of them were damaged - they had no hands, feet or other parts of the body. Archaeologists cannot agree on whether their feet were deliberately destroyed by the people of the Jammon culture.

Other versions are known and they say it's a picture of people suffering from some illness. Healers or priests transmitted diseases to these pieces, then broke them and thus relieved of ill suffering. In favor of this theory, it is also shown that many pieces have actually been found damaged.

Another hypothesis assumes that they are special amulets, with the help of which some shamans made contact with the gods and the natural elements. Perhaps they were even in this way accommodating the almighty rulers as they performed various ceremonies.

Another theory states that some parts of the figurines may have been removed during fertility rituals. During the Jajoi period, which followed the Jomon period, Great Danes no longer originated. Why? This seems to remain a mystery.
