Who's cleaning on Mars?

NASA successfully placed 4 carriers on Mars: Sojourner, Spirit, Opportunity, Curiosity. The main objectives of these missions were to find evidence of the presence of water on Mars. Paradoxically, most missions did not address the question of the presence of life. (It was not their primary goal.)

The Spirit and Opportunity vehicles were landed on Mars at the same time. Their expected lifespan was approximately 19 days due to the ongoing intense dust storms. Spirit finally managed to survive 7 years until 2010. In contrast, the second Opportunity vehicle is still functional today. During this time, several events were recorded, which we could call cleaning. Over the last 14 years, it has repeatedly happened that the dust from the solar panels, which are necessary for the operation of the vehicle, has been cleared. To these cleaning it always occurred at night when the vehicle was to be at rest to save battery power.

The Opportunity mission has been extended 5 times. In 2007, during the 4th extension of the mission, a strong dust storm blocked the solar panels. When the storm passed, something caused the dust to disappear from the panels.

In May 2009, the Spirit vehicle sank into the sand. After about 9 months of trying to get him out, NASA announced in January 2010 that Spirit remained in play as a stationary reconnaissance probe. For some reason, they stopped happening cleaning, thanks to which the probe quickly began to lose its energy input. Shortly afterwards, NASA officially lost contact with the vehicle.

In contrast, Opportunity underwent another cleanup in May 2010, increasing power consumption by up to 70% compared to the vehicle's options at the beginning of the year.

In English, the term is used for this special phenomenon Cleaning events. You can find this term in many NASA documents. The official explanation is that the local wind is behind the thorough cleaning. The same wind that swirls local dust on other days. If you look at the photos, you can see that the wind with and without dust - they are very thorough in their work. It's just a mystery according to which key decides which event will occur.

Astronaut fixes Curiosity?

We have already mentioned witnesses who claim that they saw a photograph of a vehicle standing on the ridge of a nearby hill, directly in the control center of the vehicle operation.

Therefore, the following questions are available: Who's on Mars? Whether those who claim to have fled Mars long ago are they right? Or, whether the vehicle is driving only after the test base on Devon Islandas recently revealed, when the photo gallery from Mars (according to NASA by mistake) photos from this place. At least from 2001 to the present, the island of Devon has officially served as a test base for simulating the conditions expected on Mars.

In this context, a photograph of a shadow resembling a man with a mask and a backpack repairing something on a Curiosity wheelchair is very popular. It's just a game of shadows or someone is really trying to service…
