Recently the archaeologist has made an unprecedented finding. Near Jerusalem uncovered the ancient city, which is dated to the time of the reign of King David. Bible experts say it is proof of the accuracy of the Bible. The legend of King David describes how a young shepherd kills the giant Goliath, eventually ascending the throne and conquering Jerusalem. The discovery of the biblical city is a surprise, because historians are still debating whether there were biblical personalities at all, such as King David and King Solomon.

Professor Avraham Faust, a scientist who has taken part in archaeological research, believes that the latest discoveries confirm the credibility of the Bible. According to Professor Faust, this new discovery from the time that is described in the Bible like David's kingdom.

If we read the Bible, we find that King David was the ancestor of Jesus Christ and probably lived around 1000 BC. Damascus in the late 9th, early 8th century BC, the report of its victory over two enemy kings contains the phrase ביתדוד, which most scholars translated as "house David". Radiocarbon datation tests performed on archaeological discoveries indicate that the city falls into the same period.

However, some experts believe that the legend of King David is similar to the legend of King Arthur, a mixture of myths and historical facts based on time. The excavation of the mythical city took place in the Jewish region of Shephelah in the east of the Hebron Hills. Archaeologists have found an artificial wall consisting of the ruins of many ancient cultures that have existed in the same place for thousands of years.

Many historians are convinced that here once used to be the Canaan town of Eglon, later referred to in the Bible as the territory of the Judaic tribe, the founder of which was David. However, there are many scientists who question the Bible as a valid historical document because most of the events mentioned in it are not supported by evidence.

Professor Faust's opinion

Teacher Faust he said for Breaking Isreal News:

"Of course, we did not find any artifacts bearing the name of King David or Solomon, but we discovered signs related to the transition of Canaanite culture to Jewish culture. As this took place at a time when the kingdom of David began to spread to the region, it is clear that the building was part of the events described in the Bible.

The building was dug almost entirely and consisted of a large courtyard with rooms on three sides. Hundreds of artifacts were discovered in the wreckage, including a wide range of ceramic vessels, weaving weights, many metal objects, plant remains and many arrowheads, evidence of the battle that accompanied the conquest of the site by the Assyrians. "

A complete study was published in the Radiocarbon journal.
