6th international conference of exopolitics, history and spirituality

In 1924, the League of Nations adopted the first so-called Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which enshrined the fact that a child needs special guarantees, care and special legal protection before and after birth because of their physical and mental immaturity.

The following year, the first World Children's Conference to promote 01.06 was held in Geneva. for International Children's day.

Not less than two events that included the idea of child welfare priority from the outset fell on the first day of June in 1925: The World Conference in Geneva for Child Welfare took place and demonstrated that the Chinese Consul General assembled in San Francisco the same year a large number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival with them.

A little about history?

Turkey: History International Children's Day has its roots in 1920, when Turkey's founder Mustafa Kemal Attatürk declared National Assembly - 23.04. as Children's Day. Attatürk loved children and thought that children are the new beginning of tomorrow, became his credo. So Turkey celebrates 23.04. like National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

Czech Republic and Slovakia: In the Czech Republic, the International Children's Day was already celebrated during the First Czechoslovak Republic. Editors Flowers Czech - a magazine founded by Czech writer and playwright JK Tyl in 1834 - dedicated one year to children and adolescents and later to children on the occasion of International Children's DayThere were celebrations at that time International Children's Day in the form of various shows and shows, which were mostly held in schools: their form and scope depended on the attitude of individual teachers.

01.06.1950 was officially accepted as International Children's day like in other communist states. As part of the celebrations, especially the right of children to live in peace, the right to health care and harmonious development has been highlighted.

20. The century is also called the century of children and it is the right label. It is a century when many important legal documents have been adopted to protect children. This was done in a century of world summits to identify the current problems of the world that destroy childhood in different regions of the world.

And what about law and children?

Let's mention that Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was signed on 30.09.1990 in New York and ratified by the Federal Assembly of the Czechoslovak Federal Republic on 07.01.1991 (the ratification was transferred to both successor states on the day after its establishment - 01.01.1993) defines for the first time a child as any human being under the age of eighteen. The definition of age is particularly important in the case of questions relating to the rights of the child.

At present, especially the protection of children against violence has become topical. Violence can take various forms - organized violence (war conflicts), domestic violence (physical, mental and sexual violence, neglect of children), but also their exploitation through child labor, commercial sexual abuse and the like.

According to UNICEFF Children's Fund, millions of children around the world are at risk.

Sadly, the International Children's Day also reminds us that the world's biggest tragedy is the persistent food shortage, drinking water, health care and children's education. The Czech UNICEF Committee is implementing a number of projects that contribute to eliminating these problems and improving the situation of children around the world.

From this point of view, it might seem that Czech children have no problems and therefore celebrations International Children's Day rather a cheerful show full of games and fun. However, it is important to realize, in particular, that all forms of violence, lack of parents' time, lack of respect for children, awareness of their rights - especially the right to information, the right to express their own opinions and attitudes, and to address the issues that concern them - are the problems that Czech children face.

Although this may seem trivial and insignificant compared to children living in some other countries, it is not so. Our children live in these conditions and realize their basic needs and rights that will be crucial to the well-being and quality of their lives and the quality of our future.

United Nations on the occasion of the anniversary of adoption Declaration of Rights of the child declared 20.11. like World Children's Day. It is difficult to determine the difference; with some exaggeration it can be said that World Children's Day is the day of all children's rights. International Children's day perceived as a celebration of children and a reminder of the need to adapt the course of public affairs to the benefit of their children and thus a better future for humanity.
