Mission New Horizons to Pluto

Also, some of you are astonished that Pluto astronomers have removed from the list of our solar system planets?

You know, it's a little upside down, instead of accepting the discovered planets nicely, we selectively get rid of them. But that's how people get along, what do you say? I think Pluto and many other unclassified planets may not care. It belongs to the family of our solar system, whether someone likes it or not.

It may seem paradoxical, but in 2006, when some astronomical academics did not like Pluto, NASA New Horizons was just running on this planet. The probe was scheduled for hibernation during the flight, and in December 2014 was awakened from sleep.

Although few days ago, Earthmen had no good pictures of this mysterious planet, so the probes are changing every day.

The last days are thrilling and full of surprises because they started to walk pictures and wonder - Pluto is probably another red planet. It is not a gaseous planet such as Uranus or Neptune, but clearly has a solid surface.

As usual with NASA, the last days offer a bit of speculative tension… the ground center has lost 4. July in 17: 54 UT probe signal. Signal reception was restored in 19: 15 UT. Whatever the reason for the blackout, the probe switched to a backup computer, went into emergency mode, and began broadcasting again to Earth. The management team evaluates the situation. The signal travels almost 4,5 hours, so confirmation takes almost 9 hours, so it may take some time for the probe to go back to scientific mode.

On Sunday, at 10 hours of our time, a commission is set up to investigate anomalies and prepare instructions to send the probe.

From the official report: There is no reason for panic. As Alan Stern, head of the mission, writes: "Any unsubstantiated rumors of serious problems are out of the question, the bird communicates normally."

So let's see what NASA and Pluto are about to surprise us ...
