The modern school is two hundred years old and is still considered the main form of education. School and education are concepts that are widely discussed on campus, public policy, educational institutions, the media, and civil society. Since its inception, the school has been characterized by structures and practices that are now considered overcome and very obsolete. Its main deficiency is in an arrangement that does not take into account the nature of learning, freedom of choice and the importance of love and human ties in individual and collective development.

These considerations have led to revisions, suggestions and changes in thinking in recent years. The documentary "Forbidden Education" shows how modern education came into being, what challenges it faces and presents possible solutions. At the same time, it explores alternative approaches and highlights those experiences that have dared to change the structure of the traditional school's educational model.

There are over 90 conversations with teachers, scientists, experts, writers, mothers and fathers in the film. It is a journey across the eight countries of Latin America and forty-five unconventional learning experiences that have been seen or downloaded by more than ten million people. The film was co-funded by more than seven hundred co-producers and offered for free distribution throughout the world. The film has become a unique phenomenon in the Spanish speaking countries, a completely independent project of unprecedented scale that reveals the hidden need and call for new forms of education.
