We've all watched Jurassic Park movies. Imagine, however, that you were in the abandoned Jurassic Park, where dinosaurs and mammoths run around you. You do not know where you will meet and how long you live. And that's not just the scene from the movie. That can really happen! According to scientists from Russia.

They are about to create a clone of prehistoric animals, known for example from Jurassic Park. They are building cloning devices to make this experiment a reality.

Does the cloning plant create a new Jurassic Park?

Russia is developing a totally new cloning device worth approximately 4,5 million pounds (about 5,9 million dollars), which is supposed to clone prehistoric animals such as mammoths and other extinct prehistoric species.

Plans for the "world class" research center in Yakutsk were unveiled by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the 4th Eastern Economic Forum, held on 11-13 June. September 2018 in Vladivostok.

Vladimir Putin said before this year's meeting:

"Russia currently provides the best conditions for the use of advanced technologies and the creation of new innovative industries."

Scientists are going to "wake up" not only mammoths, but also a large number of extinct species such as Woolly Rhinoceros or Cave Lion. These species disappeared thousands of years ago. A team of scientists works closely with a team of South Korean specialists in extinction of extinct species.

Jakutsk, the capital of the Republic of Sakha, is the place where many dead tissue of frozen extinct animals have been discovered. In fact, up to 80% of Pleistocene and Holocene samples with preserved soft tissues were found in the region.

As scientists have remarked, DNA of prehistoric animals can be preserved for up to tens of thousands of years in a frozen terrain known as permafrost.

It is assumed that these mammoths lived at the same time as cavemen. They have hunted and used their bones, fangs, meat and coat. The animal, weighing approximately 6 000 kg (6 tonnes), disappeared from continental territory at the end of the pleistocene era, about 10 000 flights.

However, some isolated mammoth populations are believed to have lived longer in certain places. They became extinct on St Paul's Island, Alaska 5 years ago, and on Wrangel Island, Russia, just 600 years ago.

According to recent studies, mammoths have most likely died out due to climate change and excessive hunting.

Several international projects are trying to save these prehistoric animals. If that succeeds, we can soon look forward to the return of such animals as Mamut Furry, Coal Rhinoceros, Lion Cave and Longhaired Horses.
