The Peruvian developer destroyed the pyramid bulldozer on one of the oldest archaeological sites in North and South America. Some of its parts are 3000 to 5000 years old.

After demolishing a six-meter-high building that occupied 2500 square meters, they tried to demolish another 11 pyramids. According to an email from the Minister of Culture, the group was caught by the police.

"The damage caused is irreparable," the minister said. People, responsible for the damage, will receive 8 prison terms, the minister said.

The destruction came five months after archaeologists found a temple at an archeological site known as El Paraiso, which could be as old as Caral, a 5000-year-old temple north of Lima. It was found in 2001. If the complex was built 3000 years BC, then it would mean that it would precede the Step Pyramid in Egypt and Stonehenge in England. (Assuming we take the official date of these buildings seriously. Note: transl.)

Marco Guillen, the head of the archaeologists' team, who led the February (2013) excavations, warned earlier that more protection against theft and illegal construction would be needed.

Today's Peru gained the most popularity thanks to the remnants of the Inca Empire, which existed until the Spanish invasion in 1532. It was at the time a dominant civilization similar to Chagán, Wari-Tiahuanaco and Mochica. These civilizations came only after the people who built El Paraiso and Caral.
