Did you know that the original entrance is still open? At present, tourists enter the pyramid through an entrance carved by grave robbers in the hope of finding some treasure inside. The original entrance is located a few meters higher and is currently closed by a desired door.

It is worth mentioning that the pyramid entrances built by megalithic technology were mostly several meters above ground level. The first thing you had to go through is going back to the level of the terrain or even lower - underground, below the level of the pyramid.

This is the case with the Great Pyramid. If you go the main entrance downhill shaft, you will reach down to the lowest chamber. Of course, by the way you pass the branching into the royal and queen's chamber.

Personally, I experienced it myself in the so-called Red Pyramid (Dahshur). You must climb on the improvised wooden staircase to about 1 / 4 pyramid height and then follow a steep sepsup down the hallway with dimensions of approximately 1,5 × 1,5 meter. They're like a chicken coop. Nothing for people with a tendency to claustrophobia. When you finally turn around after 5 minutes of intense climbing and look back, the proverbial "light at the end of a very long tunnel".

Similarly high is the entrance to the Lomena pyramid, which is also located in Dahshur. On the other hand, entrances to other pyramids, such as the Teti Pyramid at Sakkara, a stepped pyramid right in Sakkaře, or II. and III. pyramid in Giza, have inputs at terrain level or even beyond the ground plan of the pyramid itself. In the case of the Sakara pyramid, there is even another technological process of building the outer shell. It is made of much smaller blocks and the pyramids are so out of the overall worse condition.
