The calm of the captain's bridge was disturbed only by the monotonous sound of sonar and the silent conversations of the guards and officers on duty. Admiral Richard Evelyn Byrd leaned over the map. His aircraft carrier, like sixteen others, was headed for Antarctica. The voice of one of the officers tore him out of his reverie:

"Sir, message from the main security. They met ... "

"Who did they meet with, Lieutenant?"

"Sir, he's talking about ... flying saucers."

Byrd stared intently at the officer, who literally froze in indecision, and without saying anything, he headed for the radio operator who was in contact with the ships securing the convoy. When the radioman saw him, he jumped up, removed the headphones from his head, and placed them in Byrd's outstretched hand.

"This is Admiral Byrd. What the hell is going on ?!"

Through the noise in the headphones, the Squadron Commander heard the sounds of the naval battle, and he said,

"Sir, they emerged from the water and flew into the air. 'They look like disks."

"Who do they?", He covered the microphone with his hand and yelled at the captain of the aircraft carrier: "Airborne attackers, attacking us! ..."

This whole episode could be like the plot of a film about humanity's collision with aggressive aliens, if its witnesses had not become completely sane people, without a hint of lush imagination.

In this battle, Admiral Byrd's squadron lost a cruiser, four planes were shot down, and another nine remained in the ice. Dozens of people died. Hundreds of Marines and twenty-five scientists on board the squadron's ships witnessed the battle.

So who attacked the hero of World War II during Operation Highjump? Aliens or…?

The year is 1938. Germany embarks on a research expedition to Antarctica. The floating Schwabenland seaplane base departs from Hamburg. There are twenty-four crew members and thirty-three polar explorers on board. The expedition is led by the famous oceanographer Alfred Ritscher.

The real goal of the expedition is still disputed. But the only unquestionable result of the expedition is the fact that several hundred metal flags with the swastika emblem were dropped from the planes on the surface of the sixth continent. In this way, Germany "pinned out" almost a quarter of Antarctica. At the same time, the commander of one of the seaplanes, Schirmacher, discovered land on the ice plain. It is said that in a way it was an oasis with fresh water and a pleasant climate!

In order to explain this strange natural anomaly, another expedition was sent. This time, the "researchers" wore shoulder straps and sailed on combat submarines. And all this was personally controlled by Admiral Karl Dönitz. Judging by the reports, the Germans found an intricate cave system under the oasis with warm air, thanks to which the ground above it did not freeze. The admiral called the discovery of his sailors "an earthly paradise." And this paradise was called New Swabia and according to small reports it was located in the area of Queen Maud's Land.

Other works of the Hitlerites in the southern latitudes are shrouded in mystery. One of the bravest versions says that a city called New Berlin was built there with the help of thousands of prisoners from concentration camps.

NKVD - People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs in the USSR; CRU - Central Intelligence Service, Note. transl.
However fantastic it may sound, the very fact that work was underway in Queen Maud's Land is indirectly confirmed by data from the NKVD and CRU archives. On specially designed cargo submarines (and the fact that such submarines appeared here, confirms the veteran of American intelligence, Colonel Wendelle Stevens) were mined in New Swabia, mining equipment and mining trucks, rails and huge cutters for the construction of tunnels. To keep it a secret, German naval forces destroyed every ship that entered the quadrant adjacent to Queen Maud's Land. The term has appeared in official documents Base 211, but Admiral Dönitz said: "The German Submarine Flotilla is proud to have created an impregnable fort for the Führer at the other end of the world."

In 1945, a US naval patrol discovered two German submarines off the coast of Argentina. The commander of the US squadron "drove" Dönitz's wolves aground, and they had no choice but to surrender. It turned out that the captured submarines U-977 and U-530 were from a secret unit called the Führer's convoy. It was a special group, designed to transport particularly valuable cargo, consisting of thirty-five submarines. Only those who did not have live relatives joined the team. They were forbidden to fight, and to avoid violating the order, the weapons were dismantled from the submarines. It was rumored that it was the Führer's convoy that was saving the legendary gold of the Third Reich. Captains of captured submarines Hanz Schäffer and Otto Wermuth said they were off the coast of Argentina after dropping five masked passengers in Base 211.

This report was the last straw. The American command equips a squadron led by the famous Admiral Byrd and sends him to search for New Swabia. Simultaneously with the Americans, the Soviet "whaling" fleet Glory sails to Antarctica. There are no military vessels in it, but there are military sailors and the most modern (and then unique in the Soviet Union) radars. The "whalers" were evidently about to oversee the "allies."

Other events within the common sense are very difficult to understand. The massive American squadron suffers heavy losses without reaching its goal, so it turns its ships 180 degrees and quickly returns to its homeland. When he returns, the sailors tell scary stories about flying saucers.

Memories of the participants of the expedition appeared in the American press and in the European magazine Bizant with new details. It turned out that, in addition to the flying saucers, the crews had a psychotropic weapon, which was initially considered an unusual atmospheric phenomenon.

The famous phrase comes from here; The phrase is meant as a humorous or open hint to finish a visit. It can be used by both parties - both guests and hosts; Note: transl.
An excerpt from Admiral Byrd's report, which was reportedly written at a secret meeting of a special commission, appeared in a newspaper: "The United States must urgently take defensive measures against enemy fighters flying out of the polar regions. In the event of a new war, America may be under attack by an enemy with the ability to fly from one pole to another at incredible speed! ”After the report, the admiral showed a leaflet that he said had been dropped by one of the" plates "that attacked the squadron. On a sheet of paper, it was printed in Gothic script over the red swastika: "Dear guests, don't you have your hosts' teeth full?"

It is well known that the US has taken another analogue expedition. But no one knows about its results so far ...

One of these research races was probably in the Protectorate times in the territory of today's Czech Republic and a bit behind Prague. Stanislav Motl, in one of his programs, found a direct witness who, at the end of the war as a teenage boy (1945), saw several (apparently) flight flying test flights at the nearby airport serving the Third Reich.
We have often talked and written about the fact that scientists from Nazi Germany invented flying machines of a hitherto unknown type. There are even several photographs of Hitler officers next to disks floating in the air, with a swastika sign on the side. According to one version, the Germans had nine research plants at the end of the war, in which tests of similar aircraft took place. And one of them was transported to Antarctica shortly before the fall of the Millennium Empire.

If we assume that the Nazi hiding at the base has succeeded in completing the project of disc-shaped aircraft, then the attack on Admiral Byrd's squad has a very in-depth explanation. All the more so, according to the technical documentation supplied by the allies, the German invention really could have been around the globe and at that time reached a great deal of speed.

The fact that the US eventually left New Swabia in the room explains followers of the "Antarctic version" simply. The management of the base allegedly threatened to use a new weapon (from our point of view this explanation is not very convincing).

But one more question remains open. Did the scientific potential of the Third Reich really be sufficient to complete these projects? Opinions of scientists differ. Some assume that all information about German flying discs (including sensational photographs) is nothing but a clever hoax.

The first to refer to German research after Admiral Byrd's performance was Captain Edward Ruppelt, the head of the USAF projectUSAF - Aviation of the United States of America, note. transl.), studying a UFO called the Blue Book: “At the end of World War II, the Germans had a number of promising projects for new flying machines and guided missiles. Most of them were in the early stages of development, but only these machines were close in their perfection to the objects observed by witnesses in the United States. "

On the other hand, a secret report from the US Occupation Forces headquarters in Berlin on December 16, 1947, states: "We contacted many people to see if or not there were" flying saucer "devices in development and if there were any Among the respondents were aeronautical designer Walter Horten, former Secretary of the Air Force Odette von der Gröben, former representative of the Berlin Air Force Research Office Günter Heinrich and former test pilot Eigen. Everyone insists, independently, that such facilities have never existed or been in development. ”By the way, these statements may not be decisive. The former Nazis could have deliberately misinformed US military investigators.

The second breath of the version about German flying saucers caught in the 50s. At that time, Giuseppe Belluzzo published an article in the Italian press about disc-shaped aircraft, which were first developed in Italy and then in Germany. It is said that they failed to get into the air during the war, but today they can carry a nuclear bomb on board. As Belluzzo was a well-known expert on steam turbines and the author of almost fifty books, who held the post of Minister of Economy of Italy from 1925 to 1928 and was later a Member of Parliament, we should pay attention to his words. By the way, the army came out with supposed denials. The General of the Italian Air Force Ranzi announced that Italy did not deal with such projects either in 1942 or later.

Possible shapes of flying saucers from workshops of the Third Reich

In the French newspaper France Soir, 7. June 1952 discovered an interview with Richard Miethe, a German aerospace engineer and retired colonel. Miethe denounced the V-7 project, a flying plate whose engines were said to have been in the hands of Russian intelligence after the Red Army occupied Wroclaw. But the interview with the inventor looked doubtful. In Tel-Aviv, Miethe did not mention the name of a scientist who worked on the project and ended his narrative on the assumption that disk-shaped aircraft would appear soon in the service of the Bolsheviks (generally, a normal propaganda in the spirit of the early "Cold War").

Flying discs reappear in a 1956 book by Major Rudolf Lusar, a former collaborator of the German patent office. He says that work on them has been going on since 1941. He also mentions Dr. Miethe, who, in his opinion, at the time of writing the book worked in the United States and developed disk aircraft for the Air Force in AV Roe's factories.

But after several decades, even this sensational report was questioned. In 1978, the CRU declassified a report by Air Force Intelligence Fellow O'Connor: “There is no evidence in the Air Force Intelligence of flying discs nor any references to similar developments in the Soviet Union. Examination of personal files did not reveal any information about Dr. Miethe. We contacted AV Roe's technical staff and found that he knew nothing about Miethe working in their organization. "

There is one more version that is presented by adherents of German UFOs. It's a history of a forester Viktor Schauberger. Many inventions in the field of water management are attributed to this natural talent, including the development of original water turbines. The designer was imprisoned in the camp and later sent to Messerschmitt to work on a fighter engine cooling system.

Supporters of German Flying Saucers point to Schauberger's letter: "A flying sail flying 14 flight tests. February 1945 near Prague and which reached an altitude of 1500 meters in three minutes, developing a speed of 2200 km / h. during horizontal flight, it was built in collaboration with excellent engineers and strength specialists. I chose you from the prisoners who worked for me. As I understand it, shortly before the end of the war, the machine was destroyed… "

In one of the Ancient Aliens Channel's tracks History Channel Schauberger's grandson also speaks on the topic of the Third Reich. He confirmed that his grandfather was indeed involved in the development of flying saucers.
But again, we have reservations. First, at the time the letter was written, the designer was a regular client of a mental health facility. Secondly, some of Schauberger's water turbine designs are quite similar to flying saucers (as we imagine them), but the appearance is only external. And thirdly: the characteristics of the described machines look very suspicious (especially when it comes to the speed of 2200 km / h).

Doubts are raised by the personality of the main supporter Schauberger's plates Ernst Zündel. This neo-Nazi and author of many works on the Third Reich directly stated in one of the interviews: “The books on UFOs were of important political importance because they could have included what could not be said otherwise. For example, about the program of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, or about Hitler's analysis of the European question… And that allowed me to make a lot of money! The money raised for the UFO books was invested in the publication of the Auschwitz Lie brochures. Did six million really die? and An Honest Look at the Third Reich. "

The passions that flared up in the 50s have not yet been extinguished. The year is 1976. Nineteen brands appear on Japanese radars, which are identified as large disk-shaped flying machines. They flew out of the stratosphere at high speed, entered Antarctic airspace, and disappeared.

In 2001, the famous American newspaper Weekly World News published an article about the fact that Norwegian scientists found a tower in Antarctica, about 160 kilometers from Mount McClintock. It was built of ice blocks and was an analogy of the classic example of medieval fortifications.

In March 2004, Canadian pilots found the remains of a crashed flying machine on ice and photographed them. A rescue expedition was immediately sent to the crash site, but when rescuers reached the site, they found nothing.

Eighty-five-year-old Lens Beili called the Toronto Tribune, which published pictures of the crash, two weeks later. During the war, he worked as a prisoner of a concentration camp at an air factory in Peenemünde, saying: “I am shocked. After all, the photo in the newspaper shows exactly the same machine that I saw with my own eyes sixty years ago… In September 1943, four workers took a round object with a transparent cabin in its center to a concrete surface next to one of the hangars. It looked like an inverted bowl on tiny inflatable wheels. This pancake he made a beeping sound. Then he untied from the concrete and remained hanging at a height of several meters. "

But all these facts are too little for us to say. We are probably dealing with a typical mixture of facts and false sensations. It is, of course, very difficult to believe that the Nazis managed to create something spectacular in Antarctica (and even, as some claim, to bring Hitler here).

However, the Nazis' serious interest in Antarctica does not raise doubts. Hitler's Something has begun on the southern continent, but until now no one can tell exactly how far they have advanced in their plans. At the same time, the mysterious story of Admiral Byrd's squadron, which no one has ever given, remains a mysterious mystery.

So it is quite likely that Antarctic ice still hides many sensations, from lost ancient civilizations to the new history of the twentieth century.
