The pineal gland or pineal gland is a vital organ in our midbrain. It is located inside our skull, but it is often referred to as the invisible third eye.

No wonder - in order for this gland to function, it needs clean, unfiltered daylight that will allow it to protect important bodily processes. The pineal gland converts light energy into an electrochemical impulse, which directly supplies another important component of the midbrain, the so-called hypothalamus. According to doctors, it prepares organ systems for increased load, in a literal sense, it allows the intake and release of hormones.

The pineal gland is a small body measuring approximately 8-10 mm in length and 6-7 mm in width. Scientists have found that the epiphysis is extremely responsive to light and its structure even resembles a primitive eye.

This gland produces important hormones, especially melatonin, which is produced during the dark, so it causes a person in the evening to urge to sleep and regenerate the body. Deficiency of this hormone in humans causes insomnia. The ability of melatonin to produce decreases with age.

It is generally known in scientific circles that in people who are in a state of meditation or trance, the pineal gland produces greater amounts of this hormone. Some pharmaceutical companies produce so-called melatonin tablets, which, for example, help pilots and flight attendants to cope with time zone changes.

The so-called melatonin hypnotics (sometimes referred to as hypnosis of the fourth generation) allegedly do not cause addiction and trigger the natural melatonin production (I would say that it could be argued). Melatonin also affects aging and is therefore also called the hormone of youth.

But researchers are beginning to realize that the function of the pineal gland could be much deeper. Countless attempts have been made with the pineal gland. In one of these experiments, it was found that if a person lost both eyes and the anatomical part in front of the pineal gland was exposed to light, the mysterious organ could respond to stimuli similar to our eyes.

In connection with the pineal gland, the researchers also found that the use of sunglasses can disrupt the intake and release of hormones in this gland. American dermatologist Patricia C. McCormack says: ,,Limit the wearing of sunglasses, as sunglasses limit the light that travels from the eyes to the pineal gland. Glasses and contact lenses rob you of energy by blocking certain ultraviolet rays that travel through the eyes into the pineal gland. ”

American researcher Roy Mankowitz says: ,,The downside of wearing sunglasses is that it interferes with parts of the endocrine system (endocrine glands), which includes the pineal gland, which responds to light. We do not fully understand how the pineal gland works, but from what we know, we should not play with it".

Some spiritual traditions say that every time someone used a third eye. This eye was visible and rested in the middle of the eyebrow, at the root of the nose. In the course of time, however, man has begun to fall spiritually and his ability to use this body has faded away.

In the tradition of both East and West, the pineal gland has long been associated with the soul and imagination. Even the Greek anatomist Herophilus, who lived in the 4th century BC, claimed that the pineal gland controlled the flow of thoughts. Modern scholars have assumed that it is the seat of imagery, and because of it, our souls and minds have an influence on the physical body.
