Ascending corridor in the Great Pyramid

It is still a great mystery. The ascending corridor (sometimes also called a large gallery) was never built for people to walk up and down it. What purpose did it serve? Nowadays, tourists walk up wooden stairs and are supported by an iron railing, which has been delivered to the steep floor only nowadays. The stones are very smooth and therefore slippery - not suitable for walking.

The fact remains that the Great Pyramid is currently the largest pyramid in Egypt. It is also the only building we know to contain a large gallery. There is no meaningful explanation officially for why the gallery has been incorporated into this pyramid.

It is also worth mentioning that on the sides of the corridor there are holes in the floor at regular intervals. Their purpose is also unknown.

Similarly, the ceiling of two large rooms in the Red Pyramid in Dahshur is being solved. If you lie to the ground, you feel like there is a staircase in front of you.
