An interesting collection of dinosaur figures, people and people from Mexico

We must be convinced that the dinosaurs have died out on Earth for a long time before a man has appeared here. Was that really true?

The story of the statues found, about which there are still disputes, began in July 1944.

Waldemar Julsrud was a merchant from Bremen who left Germany for Mexico. He chose the country of eviction, taking into account his hobby and passion, archeology. He studied the civilizations of the Toltecs, Aztecs, Mayans, and Purpées (Taras) and contributed greatly to the discovery of the Chupícuaro culture, which existed from about 600 BC to 250 BC and was named after the site of the first excavations (160 km northwest of Ciudad de México), which began in 1923. The co-discoverer was Julsrud's friend, Fray priest Jose Marie Martinez. Originally, they thought that these were finds of Taras culture.

Acamebaro

21 years later, in 1944, Julsrud rode his horse to the ends near the town of Acámbaro, 13 kilometers from Chupícuar. As he rode, he noticed carved stones and fragments of pottery protruding from the ground. He was immediately captivated by the find and hired a local peasant, Odilon Tinajer, to rescue any artifacts from the ground. He paid him only for whole objects, not for their fragments.

During the following years, 33 - 000 diverse objects were found. Julsrud stored them all in his house, and by the end of his life (37) they were said to occupy 000 rooms. After Julsrud's death, they began to be sold off, so we don't know the total volume of his collection. And it was not until 1964 that his museum in Acámbaro was opened; in the house where he lived.

These are statuettes of people who have the characteristics of different races and nations. Mongoloid, negroid and Europoid races are represented here, we can also find the Polynesian type and others. The collection also includes artifacts reminiscent of the lids of ancient Egyptian sarcophagi of the pharaohs. The whole is a kind of mixture of cultures, nations, beings and time periods. In addition to clay statues, the collection also includes stone artifacts made of jade and obsidian. Among the many artifacts found are also depictions of creatures that are humanoid but do not look completely human, and about 2 dinosaurs. Dinosaurs who became extinct, or should have died out 600 million years ago.

Official reaction

These findings caused great concern in the scientific world, and the whole matter was eventually put on ice. Archaeologists refused to take over the research and at the same time raised objections to the unprofessional approach. And here we come to the problem of dating.

The original dating using the thermoluminescence method determined that the objects date back to 2 BC (some sources state 500 BC). A storm of official resentment erupted against the date, and later new analyzes were carried out to identify the objects as modern counterfeits made in the early 4th century, around 500. According to available sources, however, the thermoluminescence method has a maximum deviation of 20%. error in the range of 1930%. The main argument of the scientists was that when using this method, the firing temperature of the products was entered in the calculation, which did not correspond to the possibilities of the given time. However, along with the pottery, stone artifacts were found that are subject to erosion, and this was clearly noticeable on them.

Collection

The most numerous in the collection are statuettes made of various types of clay, modeled by hand and burned on an open fire. Another group are stone sculptures and the third is ceramics. In all this huge number, there are no two statuettes that are the same or similar. Their dimensions range from a few tens of centimeters to a height of 1 meter and a length of 1,5 m. The collection also includes musical instruments and masks.

Waldemar Julsrud himself was of the opinion that the whole set of artifacts had once been brought from the mythical Atlantis and that the Aztecs had stored and cared for it in Tenochtitlán. After the arrival of the Spaniards, the Aztecs hid the entire collection and, thanks to the destruction of their culture and the severance of continuity, forgot about the hideout.

Many statues depict unknown species of animals, among them are those that remind us of mythical dragons from legends and fairy tales. We can see an ordinary horse, a saber-toothed tiger and a huge ant here. There is another peculiarity - six fingers. For example, a monkey, and it is not a mistake, both on his hands and feet has six toes. We can even find six-fingered dinosaurs here. The figurines give the impression that they come from different creators with different levels and possibilities of processing. In addition, the vast majority is captured in motion as if they were "filmed live".

Along with the artifacts, several human skulls, a mammoth skeleton, and an ice age horse's teeth were found.

Dinosaurs surprise with their diversity. Among them are very well known species such as brachiosaurus, iguanodon, tyranosaurus rex, pteranodon, ankylosaurus or plesiosaurus and many others. But there are also many statues that scientists cannot classify - such as winged lizards-dragons. Probably the most surprising are the sculptures, which depict humans along with dinosaurs of various species and make us wonder if humans and dinosaurs "knew each other". And this coexistence took place in the whole spectrum of relationships; from combat to the possible taming of dinosaurs by humans.

And what is perhaps more than interesting, we also find there a depiction of a reptilian creature, which resembles Sumerian statues, but is three-fingered and the fingers are very long in relation to the palm. The child he holds in his arms looks human and shows no signs of fear.

Extensive mammals - the American camel (its current descendants are the llama and vicuña), the ice age horse - Hipparion, huge monkeys from the Pleistocene period and others - are represented in smaller numbers in the Julsruda collection.

And it was the presence of dinosaurs in Julsrud's collection that was the reason for his discrediting and concealing his findings. Which is perfectly understandable, because the fact of the coexistence of humans and dinosaurs would not only deny and refute the linear process of biological evolution on Earth, but is also in direct opposition to the current worldview.

From the very beginning of his excavations, Waldemar Julsrud tried to address the scientific community. But in the early years he met with utter rejection. Even his publication, which he published at his own expense in 1947, had no response in academia.

Current status

To this day, it is not clear until all those figures could be made, and there are alternating disputes and silence. The whole thing is very reminiscent of the story of the Icy stones, is this a purely coincidental similarity?

We are presented with a version that a poor stonemason, or grave robber (Tinajero), hired by a greedy merchant (Julsrud) with a dark past, wanted to enrich themselves with statues that "spilled" like from the cornucopia of one of the ridges, El Toro. There are many versions of the story, and in most of them both protagonists play a negative role.

Following the publication of the findings, the scientific community found itself in an unenviable situation. Recognition would be a denial of Darwin's theory, which is the sacred center of human history and development, and so it was explained to the public that the finder apparently made the figures himself. One of the most involved scientists in this matter was the American historian Charles Hapgood.

Archaeologists have tried (still try) to label the whole story, and especially the collection, as unbelievable, opposed by some of the journalists of the time and not alone, such as the mayor of Acámbar, Juan Carranza, publicly confirmed that there is no one in the wider area who would engaged in similar production. And there is evidence that pottery has not been produced in these places for the last hundred years.

The whole story is the least to think about, and here we remind you again Wise stones from Icy...
