This is a quote from the epic "Ramayana". It's not the only mention of a flying machine in Indian epics. There are also detailed descriptions of how the gods fought with each other in the sky with the help of planes equipped with weapons.
At another point it is said (the end of the quote already mentioned): "Gurka (the deity) who flew the speedy and powerful vimana, sent out three large-scale, unique shots, charged to the greater monasteries. There was a pillar of smoke and fires shining like a thousand-and-a-thousand-wheeler ... the victims could not be recognized, and the survivors did not live long - they lost their hair, their teeth and their nails. "

Flying machines called the Vimans, and if we believe the description, they could float in the clouds or dramatically change the direction of the flight. According to ancient texts, there were four types of aircraft, some of which could also be used under water.
One of the chapters Treatise on flying, is dedicated to the description Guhagarbhadarsh ​​Yantra a unique instrument that was installed on board an aircraft, and with its help it was possible to locate objects hidden underground. Some scientists believe it is a device we call the radar today. This device is described in detail in the book. It consisted of 12 blocks in which there were some metal alloys that supplied the instruments with energy.

These texts are not only in India. The Chinese found ancient Sanskrit texts in one of the Lhasa monasteries in Tibet describing beautiful ships that could fly to the stars.

However, many scientists are in doubt when studying texts to question whether these machines could fly. There are too many unnecessary places in them, as fuel is used in some of the mercury, and some of the horses are hooked.

It is clear from the text that the gods themselves did not go alone, but in these devices. Why attribute such complex procedures to the gods? Could they not ascend themselves to heaven? So it sounds like a description of very carefully documented real events.

We don't just need old Indian books to evaluate the description of ancient ships, we also find similar passages in the Bible.
