A new NASA study shows that there were once upon a dozen ancient civilizations like ours, but all of them suddenly disappeared.

The study suggests that mankind could disappear over the next few decades on the basis of the pattern observed in these civilizations.

If we look at 3000 - 5000 years back in history, we will find a historical record that clearly shows us how advanced and complex civilizations were as vulnerable to collapse as we are today. This persistent pattern has led scientists to the question of the future existence of society and civilization as we know it today.

If we looked back in more than 10000 years, we would find evidence of the existence of advanced civilizations that probably preceded the Indian, Olymka and ancient Egyptian civilization, not to mention other advanced ancient civilizations like the Mesopotamia.

It is difficult to overlook the recurring patterns identified by scientists in most of these civilizations, and a NASA-funded study is clear evidence of the journey of ancient civilizations to Earth over thousands of years. According to many people, this means that ancient civilizations have originated and disappeared several times throughout history.

Causes of the extinction of civilizationsThe same elements have been preserved and repeated, causing the extinction of ancient civilizations before us. Safa Motesharri, an applied mathematical scientist, has said in his study, The Dynamic Model of Man and Nature, that the process of birth and fall is actually a recurring cycle that we can find throughout our history.

"The fall of the Roman Empire and (if not more) the advanced empires of Chan, Mauryan and Gupta as well as many advanced Mesopotamian empires is a testament to the fact that advanced, sophisticated, complex and creative civilizations can also be fragile and fleeting."

The study concluded that there are two key social elements that have contributed to the collapse of every single advanced civilization in the past: "overfishing due to environmental sustainability" and "economic stratification of society into elites (rich) and masses (ordinary citizens - poor). These social phenomena have played a "central role in the nature and process of collapse" in all cases over the last 5000 years.

Even though our civilization is at a very advanced technological stage, this does not necessarily mean that we are protected from impending chaos. In the study, we found that “technological changes can increase resource efficiency, but they can also increase per capita consumption and increase the volume of raw material extraction. Thus, increasing resource efficiency often leads to an increase in consumption. "

One of the best examples of the extinction of advanced ancient civilizations can be found in Central America.

If we look at the old Mayans, who were extremely mature in ancient civilization, we find that a number of factors played a key role in the collapse of this once great empire. While most scientists agree that deforestation, famine and drought were key elements of the demise of the Mayan Empire, we find a similar pattern in other civilizations, not only in America, but around the world.Causes of the extinction of civilizations

Motesharrei and his colleagues concluded that in conditions "that reflect the reality of today's world," we found it difficult to prevent collapse. "In the first of these scenarios:

„…. Civilization seems to have been on the path to sustainable development for some time, but although it has an optimal rate of absorption and a very low number of elite members, the elite eventually consumes too much, leading to hunger among ordinary citizens and eventually causing society to collapse. It is important to note that this type of collapse is caused by hunger, which causes the loss of workers and not natural conditions. "
