According to an article in the Times Malta, archaeologists said that the construction of a new complex of residential buildings did not threaten the so-called "car tracks."

Moviment Graffitti had previously opposed the developers' intentions, but when the speech came, the microphone was disconnected several times during the speech by the representatives of the developers. According to the Times, Malta did so because the allotted time for the opposition spokesman had expired and the spokesperson gave all the arguments, ending the debate.

Building plot near the endangered monument

However, the developers had an archaeological report carried out, the result of which is that there are no 'traces of cars' in the construction site. However, the Times Malta reports that the building plot is located just a few meters from this protected monument and that it is still threatened by construction work.

What are "car tracks"?

The so-called "car tracks" are an ancient monument of unclear age and purpose. As the name suggests, these are parallel grooves stretching up to several kilometers in length, some of which run even below sea level. In some places, the clusters of these tracks are so dense that they create the impression of a train station.

According to the official archaeological explanation, they were created by shredding soft limestone under the wooden wheels of wagons. However, it is also possible that they were related to the lost technologies of the extinct pre-Flood civilization. In addition to Malta, it is also located in northern Sardinia, in an area not far from the Pyramid of Monte d'Accoddi.

hypogeum

In addition to these "car tracks", Malta is famous for its megalithic temples and tombs called hypogea, which have very interesting acoustic properties. Giant statues of a woman lying on her side, who probably symbolized the mother goddess, the giver of life and fertility, were also found in these temples.
