Kazakhstan is a bite of different lakes, and each of them is unique, but one - Kok-Kol, which lies in the Karakistan Valley, is famous for its anomalous phenomena, as it lives in it water spirit.

It is said that the lake is inhabited by a relic monster that is very similar to Lichnov's monster and unknown science. The locals call it the water spirit Ajdachar. Which is perhaps the reason why animals and people are lost on the lake

Blank mystery of Kol-Kol Lake

The water in Lake Kol-Kol is extraordinarily clean and bluish in color. That is why it has the name Kok-Kol, translated from Kazakh "blue lake".

The peculiarity of this water reservoir is that it is not fed by any river or stream. Even in the hot summer, the water level remains constant as it is replenished by underground springs.

The locals are convinced that Kok-Kol has no bottom. By the way, the hydrologists who studied the lake did not really find the bottom in many parts of the lake, but discovered a lot of flows and canals. Based on this research, they also concluded that there are underwater caves in the great depths below Kok-Kol. Ufologists believe that ichthyosaurs could survive in them. It is possible that Lake Kok-Kol and Lochness have something in common, both formed in the Ice Age.

Live Lake

Live Lake is another name that Kok-Kol has received thanks their self-cleaning capabilities. This is done by the fact that ripples appear on the surface, even in windless weather, which "collect" various impurities from the lakes.

Just a few moments and the water is clean and calm again. The locals consider this water to be medicinal and use it without any treatment. It is in the places where the ripples appear that the water is saturated with useful minerals, and the locals try to collect the water on the ripples until it disperses in the lake.

Dragon Ajdachar (illustration)

At night, strange noises are heard from the lake, like growls or moans, and massive splashes of water seem to be in the lake. a huge animal screamed. According to one of the legends, this creature is named Ajdachar and reminds of a gigantic snake, longer than 15 meters, and according to another legend, a single-headed camel.

In any case, when Ajdachar appears, there is a whistling and hiss over the lake, turning into a long roar. The monster is said to capture birds and animals as they approach the reservoir. Few were able to see him, but many heard him. People, if they don't have to, try to avoid the lake.

Legend of Ajdachar

Kazashi has a legend about the dragon Ajdachar, which feeds on the blood of living creatures. There used to be times when he was ruling the world and his mistress was a mosquito. At the command of Ajdachar, the mosquito traveled all the possible ends of the earth and tasted different kinds of blood so that he could tell Ajdachar which blood is the most delicious.

And so, one day the mosquito returned from another trip and met a swallow. Apparently the mosquito liked the bird and shared with it the results of its activities: the sweetest blood is human. The swallow had long tried to persuade the mosquito not to tell Ajdachar about it, but the faithful subject did not want to back down.

Then the swallow flew right behind the mosquito, and when he began reporting to his master, she flew to him in a flash and plucked his tongue with a sharp peck. Ajdachar became angry and lunged at the swallow, which in the meantime was enough to dodge. The dragon managed to grab the end of its tail with its teeth and pulled out a few feathers. He miscalculated, crashed to the ground, and released his soul. Since then, the swallow has a forked tail.

We leave the legend to be a legend, but rumors are circulating that Ajdachar still lives in Kok-Kola and makes sure that the water in the lake is clean and fresh.

There is an equally interesting legend about the origin of the lake itself. He says that once Genghis Khan, after suffering a defeat in battle, raised himself with his army to heaven. However, one of his warriors angered the khan with something, and he threw a spear at him. The soldier dodged, and the spear that passed him struck the ground with full force. At that place the earth broke and the crack filled with water. And so Lake Kok-Kol was created.

Witnesses at Lake Kol-Kol

Whether it's Ajdachar's fault or not, people and animals get lost on the lake anyway. People say that once a local bača grazed a flock of sheep near the lake and saw two young men who decided to take a bath and dive into the water. Almost immediately he heard their loud screams, but before the frightened shepherd could run to the lake, no one was there, only the water swirled violently.

The Kazakh native, captured by the mysterious events around the lake, A. Pecersky, went with his son to Kok-Kolo and watched the waterfowl hunt for food.

WitnessesSuddenly, the birds screamed violently and began circling over a spot on the lake. The water level was quiet and calm. Pechersky was concerned about the behavior of the birds. In less than five minutes, the water rippled and a zigzag line appeared, as if a huge snake body were moving beneath the surface. The scientist then said that he felt that the creature was no less than 15 meters long. The huge creature rippled, only its head and tail remained in the same position.

It should be noted that Pechersky was skeptical about the stories of Aydachar, but when he saw him with his own eyes, he immediately remembered the story of the young men 's death and immediately rushed to flee. He ran up the hill and began to observe.

The ripples of the snake began to be more embossed, and small waves caused by the wind shattered on it. With a bated breath, the scientist expected the creature to emerge at any moment. But his expectations were not met. The lake creature began to dive, and in a minute the lake was calm, clear, and clean again.

And the cabinet opens

A little more light came into mysteries around Lake Kok-Kol an incident that struck an expedition from Irkutsk in the 70s. Due to the fact that their task was to explore the bottom of the reservoir, there were also experienced divers in the group, - by the way, they also did not discover the bottom. When they were immersed in the lake, an extraordinary event occurred: a vortex formed in the water, which engulfed one of the divers in front of his stunned colleagues. Everything went so fast that no one could help him. And they didn't even find his body.

Due to the unpredictability of Kok-Kolo and the possibility of endangering human lives, it was decided to stop both search and reconnaissance. Suddenly, there was an unexpected news that the missing diver lives. It was found in the valley of the river Vitim. The man was saved by a spacesuit. The lake drew him into the depths, stretched it through one of its streams, and then spat it out on the shore of Vitim with a stream of water. It follows that the lake is passable and connected to this river by an underground channel.

The following expedition, which took place in 1976, came up with new hypotheses based on his research. They managed to determine that the lake was formed during the Ice Age and is located in a funnel where there are moraine sediments. Canals often form in these sediments. It is possible that something like this happened during the formation of Kok-Kola. Channels, probably of the siphon type, were then formed at the bottom. Explorers were lucky to find one of these canals.

According to scientists, water is sucked into these channels. If there is not much of this water, then there are smaller eddies and ripples on the lake, which can evoke the image of a large snake. If there is a large amount of water, and thus air enters the water, the lake begins to make sounds.

It is in such situations that people and animals disappear in whirlpools. And these vortices then carry water from the depths, which is saturated with minerals, gases and salts. The healing effects of the lake water probably work that way, if it is a dry summer, we can see salt sediments on the shore of the lake.

It seems that all explanations are clear and logical, but they remain at the level of assumptions and hypotheses. No one had ever seen the bottom of Kok-Kola and been in its mysterious underwater caves. And one always tries to find real explanations for anomalous phenomena.
