Moonfall (2022) By the director's domain Roland Emmerich are from the beginning sci-fi films often with a catastrophic touch. Most of his movies have average ratings according to the audience. There are certainly honorable exceptions: Stargate, Independence Day, Patriot. Many of his stories combine toucha to explore controversial topics. I also belong to the movie moonfall, which even for me has a very dull story, cheap dialogues and an almost boring plot. The film is based on the theory that Moon it is hollow. In it, the author tries to point out some facts that we already know about the Moon today, and we cannot explain how such coincidences they can say:

  1. Scientists still debate the origin of the Moon. There are several options:
    1. Theory of separation from Earth;
    2. Comet Capture Theory;
    3. The theory of artificial introduction of a natural body;
    4. The theory of artificial introduction of a created body;
  2. The Moon has a diameter of 3475 km, with the Moon regularly receding from and approaching the Earth at a distance between 356355 km and 406725 km. These values are absolutely unique (see below). No other moon in our Solar System has similar properties to ours.
  3. Each year there are two to five lunar eclipses of the Sun that are observable from the Earth's surface, but for one particular location this occurs on average only once every 360 years. The eclipse lasts only a few minutes.
  4. Lunar eclipses occur approximately two to three times a year. It is a more commonly observed phenomenon than a solar eclipse, when part of the Earth's surface is shaded by the Moon.
  5. The Moon is in a so-called synchronous (locked) rotation with the Earth, so the rotation time of the smaller body (the Moon) around the axis is exactly equal to the time of its rotation around the central body (the Earth). The Moon orbits the Earth in 27,3 days. It stabilizes the tilt of the Earth relative to the plane of its orbit against the Sun. Without it, the Earth would stagger like a drunkard. Earth without the Moon would be a much more inhospitable planet than we know it today.
  6. Due to its position relative to the Earth, the Moon is responsible for the tides, which helps some forms of life. In the same way, its action affects the biological clock (eg the menstrual cycle) of many living forms on Earth. Its light acts as a navigation beacon for insects and animals.
  7. During the alleged Apollo 12 mission, the discarded Lunar Module crashed into the surface of the Moon. It then resonated like a bell for several hours. This attempt was subsequently repeated once more with the same result.
  8. The deepest crater is only 13 km and the highest mountain only 5 km. It is said that beneath the thin rocky layer is a compact spherical core, the nature of which we do not yet know much about. Therefore, there are considerations about whether the Moon is hollow.
  9. Scientists are debating whether the Moon tends to move away from the Earth in the long term or, on the contrary, to move closer to it. Therefore, some researchers speculate that it contains extraterrestrial technology that periodically corrects the Moon's orbit and monitors its bound rotation.
  10. If the Moon were an artificial satellite created by an unknown supercivilization, it would most likely have some source of energy for its own propulsion. Dyson Sphere is a superstructure that allows the use of absolutely all the energy released by the star trapped in its core.
  11. Some still-existing indigenous tribes pass down stories in folk literature that the Earth did not have a Moon, and that the current Moon is an artificial body. On the contrary, there was a period when the Earth had more than one moon.
  12. The Moon is responsible for the regular ebb and flow of the world's oceans and lifts the lithospheric plates. It serves as a reference point for many animals and has an influence on reproductive cycles (including humans). Without his action, the Earth would be in total chaos.
In 2015, scientists announced the discovery of a star with the catalog designation KIC 8462852. It is located 1480 light-years from Earth; in the earth's sky it is between the constellations Cygnus and Lyra. It first caught the attention of scientists in 2009, when data from the Kepler space telescope suggested that Earth-like planets could be orbiting it. Further investigation revealed that the star's light was obstructed by something that could be compared to Dyson sphere. However, this would mean that the star in question is controlled by a supercivilization.

Roland Emmerich in the movie moonfall combines the above list of facts and mysteries into a dozen films. For a sci-fi lover, the film may be completely dull. But for a lover of mysteries and taimen, it's slowly becoming the holy grail! Personally, I recommend skipping the melodramatic clichés and focusing on those considerations about the origin and nature of the Moon. In my opinion, they clearly exceed the film itself.
