In mid-February 2016, a mysterious black rain sprinkled a town in the Harrison area (about 250 km northwest of Detroit) in the state of Michigan with tarry mass that frightened the town's inhabitants. The substance has been submitted for expertise and is currently being investigated. The results are still awaited.

Residents of one of Michigan's cities are taken aback by the events of this week, when tarry mass fell on their cars, houses and roads. The event occurred a total of 2 times, approximately koldm 14.2. and 16-17. 2.2o16. The black oily substance was found on at least six streets in Harrison on Sunday, and remains a mystery after a few days. Employees of the ecological department took samples.

The fire brigade commander said that it was not a bird droppings and the substance was not flammable. Paul Schlutow (73 years), a Harrison resident, said: "The only thing I care about is whether it is potentially harmful or dangerous." Local people first thought the substance could "come" from neighboring Selfridge, where the US Army National Guard base is located.

But the base has made a statement that it has nothing to do with the tarry substance. "There is no indication that the substance under investigation was launched by a military aircraft of any kind," he said. The Air Force Communiqué further states that the base has asked a Michigan expert to carry out substance expertise on the ground.
The army's representative also said they would work with local and state authorities to clarify the issue.

A Michigan Office of the Department of the Environment has announced they will need another week to determine the nature of this black matter.
