All the pyramidions from the pyramids on the Giza Plateau are long gone. Why were they placed on top of the pyramids? That they really were there is completely without discussion. But it is not clear why they put them there and what material they were made of. Unfortunately, no one can say that for sure. There is only vague speculation that the pyramidions were made of stone (granite, diorite nebo) or of gold, copper, or an alloy of gold and silver. The possibility that they were made of crystals is also mentioned.

According to some sources, the pyramid peaks strongly reflected the sunlight.
