The oldest parts of the rock were in the middle or late trimester before 225 to 195 for millions of years in the shallow sea. The first known exit to Diablo's tower took place in 1893 by William Rogers and Willard Ripley. They discovered a narrow vertical crack in the rock from the bottom to the top. They used wooden boards and built a staircase that could be used until 1927, and you can even see the remains today.

Devil's Tower and Pleiades

According to legendy The Native American tribes of Kiowa and Sioux Lakota have long since gone on to play young girls. Huge bears crossed their path and began to chase them. In an effort to escape the bears, the girls climbed the rock, knelt down, and prayed to the Great Spirit to save them. The Great Spirit heard their prayer, and the rock rose from the earth toward heaventhat the bears should not reach them. The bears, in an attempt to climb on a rock that was too steep for them, left deep traces on the sides. When the girls reached or became the conscience of the Pleiades.

There are, however other stories and legends about the mysterious rock. A Sioux legend says that two boys from this tribe wandered far from their village when a large bear with claws like sticks began to chase them and wanted to eat them. He approached the boys and had already caught them, but they were praying to Wakan Tanka - the Great Spirit - to save them.

They climbed the rock and the bear tried to climb it too. He failed and left huge marks on her. Mato, as a bear named, eventually gave up and left for a place known as Bear Butte. Wanblee, the eagle, rescued the boys, helped them descend a huge rock and return to the village.

In our times, Diablo's tower was captured in 1977 in the Third Meetings of the Third Kind.

Tourists and locals reported over the mysterious rock, as in many other places in the area strange lights in the sky. Some even claim that these lights come to the top of the rock and rest there.
