Dendera: molten granite steps

A mystery for which Egyptologists have no rational explanation. Matches to the upper floors of Hathor's temple in Dendera (Egypt) are melted in the middle. At the same time, the stairs themselves as well as some parts of the temple are made of granite blocks.

I was in person in 2005 to see the temple in person. He is known mainly for the discovery of the so-called light bulbs, which was popularized in the 80s by Erich von Däniken. Under the temple there is an extensive complex of catacombs, of which only one is accessible to the public, namely the one where on the wall reliefs we can see something that clearly resembles an ancient light bulb in its shape and character and an unknown source of energy. Others were looted in the past by British and French would-be archaeologists with dynamite in hand. They are said to be flooded at the moment.

Another unique feature is the so-called zodiac, to which he devotes himself very intensively Valery Uvarov in a forthcoming book Pyramids: The Legacy of the Gods. According to Valery considerations is coded in the zodiac the history of our world telling the story of The great flood. The relief is located on the upper floor in a small room on the ceiling. The original was stolen in the 19th century by dynamite archaeologists during the Napoleonic campaign. Today's visitors can only admire the replica, as the original is stored in The Louvre (France).

The third mysterious artifact is the aforementioned matches. At a glance, they look as if crowds of people have walked over them over the thousands of years and worn them down. But a closer look will provide a somewhat surprising finding. Matches are melted. How much temperature must have acted on them? Granite is said to be highly resistant to dirt, weathering, hardly absorbs water, and its melting point is around 600 when 650 ° C. So it must have been a huge heat! It is very strange that the matches are melted only in the center of their axis. They kept their shape at the edges near the wall.

Unfortunately, we can only speculate as to what caused this phenomenon. The temple itself was most likely conceived (among other things) as a repository of knowledge - something like Library of Alexandria or the hidden library under the Sphinx in Giza (Cairo, Egypt).
